Product Development on Production Feasibility

PURPOSE & SCOPE

The product development procedures define approved methods for the planning, design, and development of company’s new products or services to ensure quality, safety, and reliability.
The product development procedures apply to all new product development, as well as to significant changes to company’s existing products and services.
It is crucial that adequate planning and controls should be established, implemented, and maintained during the design phase to optimize quality, cost effectiveness, safety, and customer satisfaction prior to manufacturing. Product development should be managed in a way that ensures timely development of new products, to reach completion quickly and capitalize on market opportunities. Each design/development request should have a sample manager assigned to it, who should manage the design and development process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

v  General Manager (Technical) 

v  Industrial Engineering.

v  Merchandiser.

 

PROCEDURE

v  After order confirmation through marketing/ merchandising team against any buying inquiries customer placed their standard and specification.

v  According to the standard and specification product development team of Factory. perform product development.

v  During product development IE team will involve with product development team to assess production feasibility and/or cost effectiveness of the given design.

v  Accordingly, in order to optimize quality, effectiveness and safety and/or customer satisfaction product may need to go through some change like construction change, design change, amendment to the component or material change. Hence product development team will make separate sample/mock-up for customer review.

v  After preparing sample, mock-up or full sample should be sent to the concern merchandiser along with the digital image of mock-up or sample.

v  Counter of the mock-up or sample should be kept in factory for future reference.

v  Customer will give the acceptance or their comments to the proposal.

v  If the dispatched mock-up or sample is accepted by the buyer, new reference/ final sample will be made for the reference of bulk production and tech pack/production file should also be updated by mentioning the changes.

v  If in their comments they require further change, above procedures will be repeated.

v  Whole process should be completed without affecting into the agreed delivery dates.

v  During the bulk production, if any changes initiated, either by factory or customer, above procedures will be repeated. At that case delivery date will be adjusted if required.
